Not sure when this was taken but seeing as how there are alot of union jack flags it may be when Queen Elizabeth was crowned.
The three small girls at the front are my cousins, born c1948 so do they look about the right age for it to have been taken then?
Can anyone 'slightly' older than me remember if there were street parties then.
We didn't, but I didn't live in a street. We got a telly for the coronation and I remember that there was an awful lot of people crammed into the front room to watch on a little 12" black and white set.

If you check, the little girl at the front has a Union Jack with the Queen's head on. These were special Coronation flags as I remember we had them at our street party.
I think these children have done what we did for our street party for the 1953 Coronation : we each chose a country from the Commonwealth and dressed in their national costume - I was dressed as Scotland (bit of a cheat really, but if I find the picture I'll try and put it on here!

I remember (?or do I just remember the photos) a celebration in the grounds of the Independent Methodist Church on Old Park Lane. That's me with my sisters before the parade through the streets. I rode a decorated tricycle.
