I have been sent the following and wonder whether there is anyway to find out when James and Ann were buried, possible family members
This is John's entry from Lancs Online
Burial: 6 Jan 1862 St Cuthbert, North Meols, Lancashire, England
John Howard -
Age: 13 weeks
Abode: Little London
Buried by: N.S.Jeffrey Curate
Register: Burials 1846 - 1867, Page 148, Entry 1173

Very strange! Can't find any burials for James and Ann Howard (well, lots of them really but don't seem to be the right age and can't find two from the same area.
Did find a marriage 26.03.1864!
James Howard x (29) bach, labourer, Little London; fa. --------
Ann Wright x (28) sp, Marshside; fa. John, Fisherman
Married by Banns; Wir: Nathan Rimmer and Ellen x Wright
Couldn't find a baptism for Baby John either - think they may have been non-conformist?
Will have another in-depth look when I get more time

Thank you Bez, that is James & Ann who were family members, but can I attribute the gravestone to them?
James & Ann were living Cop End in 1861 census, I didn't think that would be classed as Little London, but perhaps someone can put me right.
Think I will have to send off for the birth cert of John, though not sure which is his birth as there is one Sept qtr and two Dec qtr, but I think I could rule out the Sept one as 13 wks takes it back to Beginning Oct . Best bet would be to apply to Southport for the birth cert I think.
I don't think the death cert would throw much light on the parents as we know they are James & Ann.

I may be wrong (I often am), but, if a man and wife died in 1878 and 1899 I don't think the rellies would be bothered to record the death of a baby 15 years before who died just weeks old.
More digging (pardon the pun) is needed here!

pardon me if I'm wrong but the carving looks to have all been done at the same time and as there are no burial dates for the parents could it be possible that they were all buried there but at different times. the marker was placed by a descendent at a later date when money was available.
The usual thing was for the grave and stone to be purchased for the first burial - in this case the baby probably. Many graves carry the inscription "The Burial Place of........." without necessarily recording those names again.
My great grandparents grave says "The Burial Place of Charles and Catherine Rimmer" but the first burial was for their eldest son who drowned aged 18 in 1891. Catherine herself was the last one interred there in 1951. Charles' parents grave says "The Burial Place of Thomas and Selina Rimmer" but only records the burials of Thomas and his second wife, Betty.

It could well be a different family.
The Park database doesn't have a baptism for John, but of the children who are listed I have 2 possible burials for the Ann born in 1853.
1. Ann Howard of Cop End buried 23/10/1854 aged 1 year.
2. Anne Howard of Little London buried 28/6/1859 aged 5 years.
Also a burial record for Thomas born in 1856.
Thomas Howard of Cop End buried 6/2/1872 aged 16 years.
I'd say from those that the children living in Cop End belonged to your James & Ann, and the children living in Little London belonged to a different couple.
I find I've actually got a location for the grave in the photo if you happened to want to see it, but it looks like it isn't one of yours.

I tend to agree that it isn't 'my' family.
1861 census there are only two James with wife Ann.
1. James and Ann nee Twist
2. James and Ann - my gt gt grandparents. He died 1874, she remarried, died 1892 so I guessing she wasn't buried with him.
