My 2 x great-grandfather was Martin Rimmer (born 27 Sep 1857, Birkdale, the son of Thomas Rimmer and Lydia, nee Ambrose). He married Catherine Green (born 1 Apr 1859, Ainsdale, daughter of Henry Green and Ellen, nee Cropper) on 13 Jan 1877 at St James' Church, Birkdale.
Martin and Catherine had ten known children:
- Tom - born 16 Oct 1877, Birkdale who allegedly married Clara and went to live in Manchester
- Harry - born 21 Nov 1879, Birkdale - my great-grandad
- Sara - born 16 Oct 1882, Birkdale, probably died between 1901 and 1911
- Richard - born 12 Nov 1885, Birkdale - who went to California, married Ann Patricia Hannon and had a family
- Gladys - born 24 Mar 1889, Birkdale
- William - born 1891, Birkdale
- Arthur - born 11 Feb 1891, Birkdale - who went to London - died May 1962, London
- Catherine - born 1893, Birkdale, died young?
- Albert - born 16 Jul 1894, Birkdale
- Sarah - born 1909, Birkdale
Does anyone recognise Tom, Gladys, William, Albert or Sarah as being an ancestor as neither I nor my mother know anything about what happened to them.
I know Arthur, Albert, Gladys and Sarah were living with their parents in 1911. Similarly, in 1901, Tom, Harry, Sarah, Richard, Gladys, Arthur and Albert were living with their parents.
Any missing "cousins" out there - I'd love to hear from you.
