I was wondering if anyone can find this marriage, I have checked on freebmd, lancs bmd and ancestry with no luck
Therese Lee b. 4 dec 1908 in southport d. 1997 in southport and
Harold Howard
daughter....Barbara Howard b. ? all lived in southport for many years..
I am at my whits end tryind to locate info on them, both harold and Tessy are dead. last I heard barbara and family had moved south. and no longer lived in Skelmersdale where her husband was a police officer.
I would think FreeBMD haven't got that far yet so a year by year search would be needed.
I always start just before the first child was born or add 20 to someone's age. They may marry before this but most don't.
From the information you give that would mean started about 1928 for a Therese Lee
The other alternative if you know they lived in Southport would be to look in a Street directory for Harold Howard and then follow that up with an electoral register search - you need the address for that which is why I suggest the directory first.
It would give you an indication of when the daughter turned 21 and that way you could find her birth and so work back to find the parents marriage
Hope that helps a little. No idea where abouts you are or if you have easy access to Southport library

Its a loong shot but..
I served in the Southport Borough Police with a Harold Howard who is still living in Hesketh Bank near Southport. I know his first wife died several years ago and he later remarried.
If you contact me 'off forum' I could give you his address.
I think that you may have turned Harry into Harold - but I think he was Henry!
