Hugh Howard 1815

Does anyone have any information on Hugh Howard 1815. father Richard 1792-1867??
I think he married Elizabeth Ryding in 1841, March qtr

1841 HO107/514/49/17 (I think)
1851 census HO107/2196/543/5 a Jane Ryding, sister in law/lodger

and I think this is him
1881 census shows him as an Asphalter(pavior).RG11/3747/74/32
1891 RG12/3034/67/27

although I may have got him mixed up with another Hugh

Not too sure which one is him 1861 & 1871

Whilst looking for him in 1871 came across this and brought a chuckle

Can't help you I'm afraid Yvonne but you just made me think about this Richard Wright.
I wonder did he make a habit of having mistress' :grin:
My G G Grandmother was illig. and on her marriage she just named her father as being Richard.
A contact has her brothers marriage cert and said he named his father as Richard Wright. She didn't tell me his occupation and didn't offer to send a copy of the marriage cert. Think I will send for it myself . Hey maybe this guy is my G G G Grandfather he would have been the right age.
This is on my Dad mothers side.
Funny because on my Dads fathers side I have a G G G Grandfather also named Richard Wright right age too. Diffferent man though I hope

I don't think Richard was the father of all of Ellen's children, perhaps Bessy and maybe Mary Ellen

Hi Yvonne. It looks like she never married.
Had a look on a2a no illigit. child orders for her.
Looking at the 1871 census it looks like her brother lives next door so she is probably just Richards housekeeper.
Oh just looked she is married to Richard in 1881 living next door to her brother still. Mary Ellen and Bessie now using the name Wright.
So she ended up an honest woman . Ah thats nice
