OK so I've come to a stumbling block. on my Johnsons

James Johnson b. 1848 Northmeols to Nicholas Johnson and Ellen Wareing married Sarah 1880/1881 they had 2 children that I have found thus far.

checked LBMD have 4 possibilities 1879 sarah gregory, 1880 Sarah A Twigg/Dixon, Sarah J Jordon. 1881 Sarah Binningham.

Does anyone have this Johnson on their tree? or know Sarah's maiden name?

I think you may have to try and get the marriage certificate stating his father's name. That way you should get the right one - unless all James Johnson's married at that time had father's with the same name

I agree with Jane, someone may come along with the info you seek. After all you are one of the first with help for others...

Good hunting...

well I just got checking the censuses and it looks as though I may have to go a little further afield for their marriage as she was from Hammersmith London, she was a dressmaker and he a joiner. I guess I could check for other families moved to southport from london, might get lucky.

As someone said once family history is like a game of hide and seek...they hide...we seek!

Go get 'em, girl...
