Anyone related to/ got info on John R. Miles born 1889, son of Edward Miles b. 1858 ( cabinet maker ) and Ann. E. Howard who were married in 1883.
Edward´s family lived at 9 Anchor Street between 1861 and 1881; his father was John b. 1834( mason´s labourer ) and his mother Ann b.1835. He had two brothers, John and Thomas, and a sister,Mary. After these dates I have no further records, but the family line must have continued as a Mr and Mrs Miles( cousins) are present at my grandfather´s( Richard Sutcliffe´s ) funeral in 1955. Ann E. Howard was the sister of my g-g-grandmother Hannah Caroline Howard. Edward Miles was present at her father´s (Richard Howard`s) death on 3rd January 1885 at Mill Brow , Churchtown. He is described as his son in law.

Have you found them on a census after 1881?

I could look in some local directories if you want? Just PM or email me the list.

Paul,
Slightly veering off the subject of John Miles.

Did I ever send you copies of William and Peter's marriage certs, the ones where Ann Eleanor was witness (see Unwanted certs)

In the 1914/15 Southport Directory the are three Miles listed:

Miles, Chas, tailor's cutter, 87 Clifton Rd
Mile, James, labr., 76 Stamford Rd
Miles, Mrs. Mary, 99 Cambridge Rd

Do these ring any bells?
