I have been asked to help locate this grave in St Cuthbert's but have not been able to do so.  Unfortunately the Church has no location for this particular grave and the NMFHS MI's don't have a transcription for him yet either.  I'm wondering if perhaps Baxtersp has him on his database?

I have looked for this grave myself. I have the gravestone of wife mary ellen and their children who died as babies, also their grandson. but john is not on the gravestone. always thought he was buried with his parents.

Have either of you checked in the Visiter for an obituary?  They usually say where the burial/cremation will be.

Could he have been buried with them, but his details weren't entered on the headstone?

It could very well be as grandson thomas's info is at the very bottom of the gravestone

I think checking in the Visiter for a funeral write-up might give a hint - I suppose he could have been buried in Duke Street or even at sea

No, he is in St Cuthbert's burial register.  The problem is that St Cuthbert's do not have a grave location for him for reasons explained several times before on this forum.  Nor does the society have an MI for him - however the project to record the MI's is ongoing and we may find one for him eventually - hence my hope that Baxtersp might have a photograph on his database.

He was buried on 24th March 1950 aged 76 years and lived at 2 Lytham Road.

just talked to dad who was at his funeral. he says john is buried in st cuthberts but not with his wife, there was no room left so he was buried with in a family members plot. dad thinks it was his brother's. or his parents william and ellen but knows his brother thomas is buried with him
