I hadn't seen it before and it's interesting, but not really useful for the current purpose.

I have a marriage certificate:

November 6th, 1854; Thomas Green (32) married Lydia Rimmer (22) at St Thomas's Church in the Parish of Wigan.

Married in the Saint Thomas's Hy Church according to ......... after Banns by me ...........

Anybody come across a 'Hy' church before? Could it by Holy shortened to Hy?

Problem is I can't find any information regarding a St Thomas' Church in Wigan, I've looked in the directories at LRO but it's not listed!
