Hi Hope someone can help me . I am getting in a right mess now with my Margaret Meadows Sad .
I have a feeling though on the right family line think I have the wrong Margaret . Long story!!!
Thought my Margaret had been left an orphan as the family seemed to have disapeared anyway after nearly 3 years I have found James and the family in 1841. ( moved to Cheshire) Now my Margaret isn't with them I think she may have been dead.
What help I need is. In 1841 and 51 in Churchtown there is a Peggy Meadows living with a Rimmer family . She is with Ellen Meadows ( she is sister in law) and Peggy is listed as niece. I am beginning to think that this is my Margaret . ( she is Peggy in one census and Margaret in another )
If anyone is going to the library I wonder if they can spare time to look and see if Ellen had a child Margaret born about 1837 in St. Cuthberts reg. I think they would be there. Also a son James in about 1844.
My Margaret although through every census states 1834/5 as year of birth on what I think is her death it has her born 1837.
Embarassed Oh what a mess I am in. Thought it all fitted in too easily.
As far as I know upto now Ellen marries Matthew Sumner in 1852 has at least a further 2 children but she dies before 1861. I can't find the children in 1861 though Margaret is now in goal and Matthew is at sea.
Sorry to be a pain . Don't know when I would be able to get to Preston and our library doesn't have record that cover that year. Can't find anything on the IGI or free BMD.
Thanks for taking the time to read this

Oh forgot Margaret has a son John in 1861 born in Marsh Side so this fits too.

April 26th 1835 Margaret d. of James & Margaret Meadow, Ch. Miller

The transcriptions of the baptismal register go up to the end of 1837 and this seems to be the only one.

Hi Bez.
Yes I have that one which I thought was the right one but yesterday I found the family in 1841 they have moved to Wallasey and are mistranscribed Margaret isn't with them. There is only the one in Churchtown that is with Ellen Meadows and the Rimmers she is still with them in 1851 but she is down as a niece.Think I am going to have to go to Preston when I can and look at the full reg. Hope she did have her baptized can't find her reg but that isn't strange. Thing is she wouldn't be their niece. Ellen was the daughter of James and Isabel this James was the nephew of the other James.
It looks like this Ellen had another illigitimate child.
I am in a quandry over this one. Could she just ahve been visiting or where there two of them and one died. Oh dear looks like I am stuck.
