I just read this. It might help someone

I recently discovered the Hospital Records Database which is a unique guide to the whereabouts of surviving records from hospitals and mental institutions, and also gives details of former names - which can be revealing.

Have you ever attempted to obtain your own medical records? Because of the Data Protection Act it's far easier for us to obtain our own records than those of our ancestors
