Hi
Ivisited the Liverpool family history fair at Liverpool on Saturday, and spoke to someone about one of my husbands  ancestors Methuselah Hart, I know little about him except he was born Ashton in Makerfield 1833 and married Anne Aughton.b. 1838 Southport. Methuselah was a stone mason and they had six children. Peter Hart, 1862  Sam Hart,  1863 Edward Hart,1865  Mary Jane  Hart. 1870 Emma Hart 1875, and Ada Hart 1878. They lived in 1881 at 34 Upper Duke St.
Strange coincidence is that my great grandmother Mary Ellen Moorcroft granddaughter of Edward Moorcroft and Joyce Hodgson, were living at 25 William Street. North Meols in 1881. and 90 years later and hundreds of miles away my husband and i met and married.
Does anyone have any connections to the Hart family who lived in North Meols, or the Moorcrofts. I have tried Moorcrofts on this site before and not had much success, but you never know there is always someone knew starting up with their family history.
Regards Joyce

Hi Joyce
I have a 'relative' who had Moorcroft's in her tree. I have to email her today so will let her know someone on here is looking for Moorcroft connections.

Hello, you may have spoken to me (I was the good looking blonde!) but maybe not...

I think that Methusalah probably worked for Robinsons monumental masons which was situated exactly opposite Southport cemetery which is in Duke Street.

Do you know where he died and what exactly are you hoping to find?

Good hunting,

Dotty

Edward Moorcroft and Joyce Hodgson are my 2 x Gt Grand Uncle & Aunt.
My father is a Moorcroft and his mother was a Howard.
Looking forward to comparing notes.
