Joyce Otterstrom's database on Rootsweb is extremely accurate. There are mistakes, but she will make the necessary corrections if you can give proof that something is wrong. She has made several corrections for me, one in response to the transcription of a will which I had found which showed the father was wrong for my 5x gr grandmother. The most recent one was to do with the Blundell's as there were several John Blundell's and there was a bit of a mix up. I was able to give the dates of burial for these at St Cuthbert's where they occurred after 1837 and we managed to get them sorted out as she had been unaware of these later burials.
I would recommend that you re-send the email to Joyce as her mail box might have been full (I have had the occasional post returned as undeliverable but it gets through at the second attempt). She is anxious that the database be as accurate as possible and may even send you a report of her research which will include the sources. Be warned, though, the one for the Blundell's was 36 pages long and only involved 3 John Blundell's and their families.
I have just looked at that page on the database - you say there seems to be no evidence to support the marriage of Thomas Abram and Margaret Wright in 1796, but it says at the bottom of the entry that the information comes from the transcripts of the Parish Registers. Of course, whether he was actually her father is another matter. The only way to confirm this one way or the other would be to find a Bastardy Bond giving the name of the father.
Finally, the name Nanny is a variant of Ann, but was used as a separate name in the same way that Betty is a separate name from Elizabeth and Peggy is distinct from Margaret.
Do try again to get in touch with Joyce as she will give her reasons for what she has put on the database.
