From the Southport Visiter 1940.
Sergeant E Rimmer, Sea Cop, Lytham Road played for Churchtown Schoolboys and later for Marshside both football and cricket and later with Hartwood Hosiery. His brother Private R Rimmer of the Third Platoon, Loyal Company also played football for Hartwood Hosiery. Ernest is "somewhere in France".

They were the Rimmers that lived at 1 Sea Cop, my Rimmers lived at No.2 Sea Cop - very confusing for all concerned
