If so is there a chance they could look up a marriage at St. Cuthberts in 1845 save me buying another cert. incase it is wrong.

I have said I hold all the BMDs for St Cuthbert's and am happy to do look-ups.

Gladys do you have baptism records for 1900-1910... if so do you have harry ball b.1902 there are 2 on bmd index trying to find his parents.

Only Harry Ball baptisms at St Cuthbert's are 1842, 1864 and 1885! Some Henry's but not the year you mention! I may be going to Preston (LRO) tomorrow - post here before 9.00am (GMT) and I'll see if I can find him? If he's a non-conformist baptism those records are held at Liverpool Record Office as apparently we are not Lancashire any more
