"I have a Sarah Wadsworth daughter of Sarah Wadsworth nee Carey from Wigan who wed Charles Joseph Aughton in Birkenhead Catholic Church in 1894, on 1901 census she is living at 29 Lancaster Road in Birkdale with 4 children ,and abt 4 other young children who were visitors, she is Head and shown as married , where could her husband be ? could it be that he may be helping his Dad , [his Father was a Coachman in Liscard ]

We found Sarah 's grave this week in Duke Street Cemetery ,and her last address [where she died was 1 Kirkstall Road Ainsdale ]her son Christopher paid for the Grave abt 1942

Has anyone out there done his family or Sarah's family Tree ? "

I can't find him on the 1901 census but it is hard without an age or birth place.

Is this person a member Linda? They could maybe find things in the library - old directories, electoral registers, old newspaper report of the funeral

Surely even hospice places should be listed in the census? I have an ancestor who I found in hospital.

I am guessing he is there but his name has been mistranscribed

I contacted someone new registered on the forum and said I was looking forward to seeing him post and he sent his info to me via email.

My next move will be to contact him and ask for more info especially dates.

Thanks for the tips though...I did think of things like that too. The hubbie could be working on the boats or in prision or owt really...

Has anybody checked with the Crematorium to see if he is in Liverpool Road (Ainsdale) Cemetery?

The Marriage of Sarah Wadsworth and Charles Joseph Aughton took place in the Roman Catholic Church in New Brighton on 18/09.1894 ,
on 1901 census the husband was"missing" , however, someone fathered another son called James in 1902 , dont know yet if it was our missing link[Birth Cert sent for] we have gone down all of James's descendents up to almost the present time , I will forward you a copy of it later.
to our American friend, in 1901 Charles's Father was a Coachman in Liscard, perhaps he asked the son to help him out on the Coach ?
Thanks for all your input ,

"Remember when I could not find above (Charles Joseph Aughton), well , I have found him now, he ran away from his wife Sarah ,after giving her 5 children ,and I found him on board a ship as a Ships Steward in 1926."
