I have discovered a file in the reference library that has articles taken from The Southport Guardian newspaper 1934. It includes history and photo's of schools. If anyone would like anything copied let me know. The library charge 10 pence for each page photocopied

I would be interested in the Birkdale Central as my mother went there.  It is now called Birkdale High School in Windy Harbour Road.

I (like you Dotty) went to Farnborough Rd. and my dad went to St. John's Birkdale

As a lot of you know I am busy researching names from our war memorial - those from the second war and after. Sad but I would imagine a few on some of these photo's may be included
