Anyone need any gravestones looking up?

I've photographed most of the stones at Churchtown (St Cuthbert), as well as all those that survive at Banks (St Stephen) and Crossens (St John). They're all on my hard drive and I've got them indexed by surname so it's easy enough to search.

I can't guarantee I'll have the stone your looking for, but if I do your welcome to a copy. Another visit should finish St Cuthberts off, and then my next stop will be Tarleton I think.

Regards

Steve Baxter

Amos and his wives are buried in the Churchyard of St John's Church, Rufford Road, Crossens.  I'll have a look and see if I've got Thomas's gravestone.

I think this is Thomas senior's gravestone in the Churchyard of St Cuthbert's in Churchtown.  I'll have a look for young Thomas after I've had my tea.

Thanks Steve!

you made my day! Heres to hoping you have more photos!

Did you ever get around to photographing Tarleton (Thomas Wright b1804 was born there and I'm trying to find his father John Wright)

Cheers
Cindy

No sign of Thomas and Lily I'm afraid, they could be in part of the churchyard I haven't photographed yet.  Lily's my 3rd cousin 3 times removed at the minute.

I haven't photgraphed any of the churchyard's in Tarleton yet, but I'll probably get round to them sooner or later.

hi baxtersp
just spotted your thread as i am new to the forum. i hope you can help in locating my missing relative. joseph howard b.21 jan 1812 ,buried 22 june 1859.
i have already found his wife isabella 1815 -1902 and 2 of their daughters at st mark,s in scarisbrick. i know the family had all been baptised and married at st cuthbert,s so thought he might be there.
he was son of william howard1769 buried 9 june 1833 st cuthberts
and margaret(peggy) higham died 26 feb 1842 burial st cuthberts.
also what is the earliest dates on the headstones you have come across, as i have howards dating as far back as c1500 all recorded as burial st cuthberts according to rootsweb .
hope you can help and tie up a loose end for me
kind regards gill

Hello Gill

Sorry about the wait.  I didn't get an email saying someone else had replied to the post, it probably got knocked back by my email provider, the spam filter's a bit viscious.

No sign of Jospeh I'm afraid.  He might still be in St Cuthbert's somewhere but I haven't come across his gravestone yet.

Regards

Steve
