William & Margaret Gregory 42 Clifford Rd Birkdale in 19

William and Margaret Gregory lived at 42 Clifford Rd in Birkdale as of October 1911. Within a few years they had relocated to New South Wales, Australia. Is there any way of finding out who was living with them at this time? I know the Census doesn't come out for two years, but I was hoping there may be some other statistics that may give that information.

There are electoral registers but...........most women didn't get the vote until 1928 so they won't be listed.

The local street directories only list the head of the house

I will check the address for you though.

Um well a further problem

Birkdale was a township on its own until 1912. So electoral registers are separate to the ones for Southport. And they were lost

The library have them for Southport & Birkdale starting 1913/14

I looked in that one - 42 Clifford Road
John Wickliffe George Cains

The 1910/11 local street directory for that address - William Gregory, painter. - he would be head of the household.

Not sure if that helps. Maybe one of the names is familiar

Thank you. I supposed that it would be difficult to get any information, but William Gregory, painter, is the husband of my Great Aunt Margaret. That's a nice confirmation. It was really nice of you to check.

The 1914/15 street directory confirms J W Cairns, gardener, was living at 42 Clifford Rd
