| dotty the 2 sisters were born in flint......veronica is still alive and living in the southport area, she would be in her late 70's early 80's she is a spinster so never married...could you call the local oap homes and check for her name, joe said his aunt had heard from her about 6months ago....monica married and has a son who is a doctor....I had thought they might be the sisters who had owned the w=knowsley but not definate about it, have contacted the tourist board to see if they have any info on the old hotel...I checked for a phone in her name with no luck so thought about it and the only thing I could come up with was she was in a nursing home and used a payphone to call her cousin.

| Assuming the 94 yr old is also in a nursing home and assuming Joe has that phone number, then perhaps the nursing home would have a contact number for Veronica or other family member who may know of her whereabouts.......

Yes, I could do that but in the UK we have the Data Protection Act which would prevent any home telling me if Veronica was a resident. Please, if anyone knows differently let me know.
What Joe could do is put an article in the Southport Visiter saying he has lost touch with his relative etc, etc. It's been done before and they have had some successes.
Do residents of homes have to register to vote? Because I could look through the electoral role.
Dotty
PS
Holly has a good point. With a phone number it would be easy to contact the home._________________ Family History is moo-sic to my ears! |

Problem is there are so many home in Southport.
And not everyone on the electoral register is shown now. You can tick a box for anonynimity
I agree that something in The Southport Visiter might be a good idea.

My experience has been that people do phone up to see if they have the right place when trying to find a relative. They would ask who you are, and what your connection is, before telling you if the person was resident there. What they cannot do is give you any personal information about that person.
And yes, they do get to vote.
