big thank you to Jane.....for nipping down to the library and checking out the death of gt-grandfather Nathan Jackson in the Visiter. a most interesting read.
The inquest learned that he had spent much of the weeks preceding his death drinking heavily. Eventually he went out early one day, fell off the pier and drowned. Some choice phrases from the report! The family said he had been "somewhat strange lately", the police (from an earlier interview) were satisfied he was not a "wandering lunatic", that he was "a little queer" but "no more so than many others"! Somehow the jury managed to avoid a verdict of suicide.

Jane is probably one of the most obliging people within the North Meols FHS and I think she will forgive your oversight! I think that all of us in the North Meols Society owe Jane a big Thank You for the things she does (outside of being Secretary)!

Oh thank you Seacop. I do my best to help people - especially when they live out of town. I never charge except for copying things. Can't always find things either but I do my best.

A family affair...Just to say a big thank you for the help received from family members of the committee in the setting up of the open day and in the taking down and putting away.
