William MarshallI have a William Marshall born 06 Feb 1831. He was the son of Robert Marshall and Mary Jackson. I have not completed my input on this family but I'm sure he's the correct one. Have you tried a wonderful book by Robin Rimmer of New Zealand? He has written "The History of the Rimmer & Blundell families". I've been doing my input from this well sourced book. I'm related to the Rimmers, Jacksons thus related to the Blundells Marshalls

Would like to point out to everyone reading this that "wonderful" though Robin Rimmer's book is, it is only of use to those people who are connected to his own Rimmer and Blundell families. I asked him about my own branches and gave him all relevant names and dates which I had at that time. He didn't have a single one of them.
It has another major flaw - there is no index which would enable you to look up a particular individual.
He has done a lot of research, but it is only on his own Rimmer and Blundell lines.

I agree with Bez - it is a lovely book and interesting to read but it is only Robin's own family tree and, as with Bez, there are none of my several Rimmer lines in the book. One has to be very careful when researching lines such as Rimmer, Blundell, Wright, etc., that the correct line is followed - it is very easy to get side-tracked and finish up in a cul-de-sac!

I have William Marshall son of Robert Marshall married Ann Blundell. His marriage certificate in 1854 states his father was Robert Marshall a farmer. Can anyone help piece this family together? As dates for Robert marrying a Mary Jackson do not add up.
