Anyone heard of William Fish b 1845. He was the very first curator of the Botanic Gardens. Has anyone any knowledge of the early history of the Gardens or know of any documents that might relate to the history of the Gardens and the work of William Fish.
Many thanks, George Hargreaves

Many thanks for your extremely prompt reply. I am overwhelmed. This information is new and very useful to me.
I note on the 1871 census that this William Fish (gardener) was living at Lulworth House, Birkdale. Do you have any information about Lulworth House?
