BurgessMy husbands maternal gt.grandparents were John and Mary Burgess of Altcar.
John's father was Richard Burgess.
Any information on the Burgesses of Altcar would be appreciated.

Hi Glenys, it's me again. I take it you didn't get a connection with the Burgess list I sent.

I can't find a connection as yet.
Not certain as to the d.o.b. for John, nor his wife Mary - only certainty is their marriage date 03/06/1845 in Liverpool, and his father being Richard.
As yet, I haven't found a gravestone at St.Michael and All Angels, Altcar, for John and Mary.

But have you looked in the burial index for Altcar? they may not have had a headstone.

Re John Burgess I have found a burial APRIL 10TH 1872 - 55 , so his approx. d.o.b would be 1817/8, and for Margaret Burgess, February 2nd 1901 - 80, approx. d.o.b.. 1821.
Both of the above on St.Michael and All Angels, Altcar, registers.
I have been to Preston R.O. and transcribed some of the parish registers, but can't find a baptism for John around 1817/1818. Maybe I missed reading some baptisms from the film!
I am now in contact with another member after reading her article in the North Meols journal - loads of Burgesses!!!!!!
