Elizabeth Rymer & Alice Rymer b abt 1725

Hi All

These two ladies married two of my Threlfall brothers, according to St Cuthbert's Parish Registers.

James Threlfall to Alice Rymer 5/2/1747
John Threlfall to Elizabeth Rymer 24/5/1747

Does anyone know or can I find out if they were in fact sisters & who their father was?

Thanks

Hello again

Hi escapade

Welcome to our forum

At first I thought they could be daughters of Nicholas Rymer as he had a daughter Alis bapt 3 Oct 1725 and Elizabeth 3 Sept 1727 BUT there is a burial for a Elizabeth d/o Nicholas 9 Dec 1727.
So I don't think they were sisters as there does not appear to be any more that have the same father's born around their marriageable age.

However that said, it is only my personal view.

Thanks Yvonne

I suppose Rimmer / Rymer is a frequent flyer around these parts!

It's just that I know I have later generations of other parts of the family where siblings married siblings, so you never know.

I'll keep on searching

IGI and I presume 'Park' as well (as it is Joyce Otterstrom? who entered the data) have Alice as the daughter of John Rymer and Jenet (married 28 Jan 1721).

John looks to have been a bit of a lad! Seems he had a son by Jenet Swift out of wedlock

Have you had a look

There is some info re John.

Thanks for the link Yvonne - I think I had looked at this some time ago but she's added some more bits since then.
