You will find the birth entry in the GRO indexes which are often available at your local library/record office. The registration district for Southport at that time was Ormskirk.

Hi you have roused my curiousity as I have a Hayward line in my ancestry. My Great-grandmother's sister married a Hayward and they lived locally in Liverpool. There was even a son christened William althopugh I don't think he is related. I have found an Elizabeth Ann HAYWARD born in Stockport in 1885 her record appears on Free BDM with the GRO index for December 1885 8a 89. Thats the nearest hayward I can find hope this helps.
