I believe that one of my 5xGreat Grandmothers was Jane Gallant who married Richard Rymer on 13th March 1769 at St Cuthbert's. The marriage on IGI says she was born about 1748 (probably just a guess that she was about 21 when she married). I have looked for a baptism on the IGI, Lancashire OPC site and the Park Database and there is no information prior to the marriage. There are other Gallant (and variants) on the IGI in other areas of the country but still no Jane.
Has anyone come across this surname in their North Meols Research? There is a marriage on the IGI for Hannah Gallant in 1803, but that is the only other mention I have come across in North Meols.
I'm not sure what happened in her later years either. There are a couple of burials in 1808 and 1828 and there is also a possibility that she was widowed and then married William Blundell in 1777. However these are just idle musings with no substance.
I am planning a visit to Preston CRO and Southport Library in April so I'm hoping to find out a few things then.
