Can any one help me find Jennet Ball parents she was b1744 in North Meols, Lancashire, England d 31 Oct 1824 North Meols, Lancashire, England (know as Jenny when she died). She was married to Richard Peet b1743 North Meols, Lancashire, England d 1837 Banks, North Meols, Lancashire, England. They were married 18 Feb 1765 St. Cuthberts, North Meols, Lancashire, England. Any help to find Jennet Ball parents would be most appreciated.

It's always tricky with the wives, you never know what name they were baptised under, Jenny could have been born Jane, Janet or Jennet.
There isn't a baptism that fits 1744, nothing between a Jane Ball baptised 16th August 1741 and another Jane baptised 24th July 1748, no Jenny's, Janet's or Jennet's.
I suppose she could have been a widow when she married Richard Peet, the Parish records aren't too clear in the early days, they just give the names of the two people married, not necessarily the woman's maiden name.
Or she might not have been baptised in North Meols, but in one of the adjoining parishes. Good luck in your search anyway.

Glyn, you're not the only one who would like to know who Jennet Ball's parents were. She is one of my ancestors although I haven't done any serious work on finding out about her yet.
According to my calculation she was born about 1742 since her age at death was 82 in October 1824. It is possible that she was Jane the daughter of Gilbert Ball of Blowick, baptised 16 August 1741, assuming a small error in her age at death.
It is a bit of a long shot, but it might be worth checking Ball wills dating from after her marrriage to Richard Peet to see if Jennet Peet is mentioned. This could give an indication as to which branch of the Balls she fits into. I have not had the chance to do this yet. If you get the opportunity to look at any wills I would be interested to hear what you find.

I have found Jennet Ball on family search and her name is Janet and also I have seen a name Jenny just to make it a bit more fun in trying to find her.
I have Jane Ball b1741 daughter of Gilbert Ball as being married to James Johnson married at 23 May 1769 St Cuthberts North Meols with 4 children so I dont think this is our Jennet.
I do however have Richard Peet (her husband) Will of Richard Peet of Banks, North Meols, Farmer (Probate 7th July 1837) Research of Roger Dickenson. If you would like a copy of this please let me know your e-mail and I will send an attached document as it is too large to put in here. Jennet is not in the will as she died years before the will was written but it does mention that Richard Peet was married to Jennet Ball.
