John Abram b 1805

Any information please on the marriage of John Abram b 1805.

This one (and we know there are lots of about the same age) was baptised January 4th 1805 (NMFHS one name extracts). In the 41 census he appears age 30 with his wife Alice and three children Isabel, Jane & Richard. In the 51 census his age is shown as 44. This age is slightly adrift from his baptism date but he may not have been baptised at birth. In any event we have traced the other John's born between 1802 and 1807.(If anyone wants the detail let me know)

If the marriage was around his first born birth that gives us about 1835. There is no marriage for this John and Alice in the NMFHS ONE's. There is a marriage for John Abram in the GRO index for Q4 1839 but no matching spouse is shown.

Any ideas who the Alice was???

John Abram b 1805

Sorry George, I am sure you have the wrong John Abram married to Ann Johnson.

The marriage cert for 19th Jul 1851 shows John's father as Lawrence. Lawrence Abram married Ellen Wright 11th Oct 1802 and had a son John b 19th Apr 1807. The cert doesn't help with ages both John and Ann are shown only as "FA".

After John's marriage to Ann their naming pattern for the Children include an Ann, Lawrence and Edward (Ann's father)

John Abram b 4th Jan 1805 is the son of Richard Abram and Alice Wignall married 25th Jan 1794. It is this John Abram for whom we are trying to find a wife. The census records for 41 thru 61 show John with a wife Alice but which Alice? Their naming pattern for their children include both a John and an Alice.

Incidentally I emailed an extrct from the John/Ann Marriage cert to you on 5 Sep. It must have got lost in the big server in the sky or you have your spam filter set a bit too high.

I now see that I had Ann J married to both Johns, lost most of my data when son inst.new hard drive - managed to recover quite a bit from Roots but in my rush to get back on track I made a mess-up. Have checked all e-mails and cannot find any trace of mail from you so would be most grateful if you could try again.
I have searched for your John in Ancestry BMD and there is an odd entry for Ormskirk Q/E Dec 1939 He is the only entry shown on vol21 p.313- there are no less than 5 Alices noted in that qtr for Lancs, all in vol21 pages 315/316/317&323, the final only has 2 people on it Alice Meadows and William Ball. the others are Alice Blundell, 2 Alice Marshalls and Alice Pinnington. There is an entry in the 1851 Census which I am sure you will know of whci relates to John- aged 44 and his family.
Once again oops and apologies
Regards

I now have a copy of Certificate of Marriage of John Abram to Alice Wright on 1/10/1839 at the Parish Church of North Meols. His occupation is Weaver and his father is named as Richard Abram- also a weaver. Alice is the daughter of John Wright - Farmer.

Hello George

Where were the Bride and Groom from? Is it Banks?

I have a John & Alice Abram I haven't got a marriage for yet. If she is a Wright she could be Alice Wright baptised 13th February 1814 the daughter of John & Alice Wright, farmers of Banks.

It looks like Alice had at least one daughter, Jane, before she married John. There's a baptism for a Jane Wright 15th February 1835 the daughter of Alice Wright of Banks, Spinster which is probably her.

Here's the Census returns for John & Alice Abram. In 1851 daughter's Jane and Isabella's ages have been mixed up, but it does look like the same family.
