Lancashire Online Parish Clerk Project - Updates

There seems to have alot of updates since I last went on, not so much North Meols, but Ormskirk and have just found St Luke's Marriages 1883-1904.

http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/Southpo.../stluke/marriages_1883-1904.html.

Sorry , perhaps I should have put this on the topic that is already on here.

This site has been updated again and North Meols now has

Baptisms - Independent Chapel 1824-1837

Baptisms - Weslyan Methodist 1827-1837
Jane

That link seems to be out of date

Baptisms 1837 to 1879 from Holy Trinity, in the Town of Southport arrived on the site yesterday.

Burials 1866 to 1884 from the Parish of North Meols
ie St Cuthbert's
arrived yesterday

At last I think I have solved the problem of the fate of my GG grandmother Margery Halsall. She was buried on 5 March 1871 as Margery, aged 33, but registered as Margaret! Don't know why I didn't spot that before. That was a month before census day, which probably explains why husband Thomas is nowhere to be found; and why children James & Betty are in the hospital. Now for the certificate...

Baptisms 1813 to 1872 from the Parish of Formby are also now available

Formby Parish Registers

Excellent hour's work - filled in a number of blanks and found some "Greens" who I can't place in my records.................... have to find out if they belong now! No peace for the wicked!

I think we'll be hiding under the table soon down here - there are thunderstorms heading our way.

This Lancs OPC update is a monster! It's like shooting fish in a barrel. I pity anyone with Rimmers in their tree.... oh, hang on
Dotty

Stop...

Don't be a tease Brian...I am at work and can't wait to get home to have a look!

Everyone's saying it's going to bucket down later and I can see the clouds a-gathering!  Call the cat in and batten down the hatches...

Germaine

Oh it is lovely here perhaps we will get it after you. Hope not. Then again will save watering the garden.
Only had a quick look . Though most of my lot had moved here there were some strays stayed behind.
Will give me something to look at when everyone is out of the way tonight.

No news

Well, I had a look and found my g.granmother's burial as expected but no mention of the child that she was expecting...

There was a stillborn burial so if her baby had died it could have been buried with her but doesn't seem to be.

She died in the Women's Hospital in Liverpool...if the baby was born alive would it be registered in Liverpool?  I really should know this...

Germaine

I would think so Dotty if that is where the baby was born. I am sure as long as it lived it would have to be reg. and where it was born.
Lovely day here hope you missed the storm.
Germiane.

Problems with Lancs Online

Tried to view today and couldn't. This has appeared on another site.

Quote:
Hi Folks

Recently we changed hosts. Its a long story, but this new host appears to be nothing but trouble.
We are working to resolve issues, but these things can take time.
I can give you no definite time, but we will be back just a soon as possible. And hopefully with our Search facility restored.
Thanks you all for your patience.
