My Great grandmother is Elizabeth Leadbetter, 1875-1940. Her father was James Leadbetter, a blacksmith born around 1853 in Southport who I have found first appearing in the 1871 census with the household of Richard Johnson who is discribed as his cousin.
His is Thomas Leadbetter, described as a labourer in 1873. I can find no further information about him including his birth date. I wonder if anyone could help out?

I have found one in 1871. The age is out but...you never know

Thomas aged 2 months living with his mother Ellen on Gravel Road. I don't know where that was but I am sure another member will know.
