Margaret CropperOn Ancestry Military I have come across the papers for a James Howard C 1886 of 41 Chatham Road, age 29 . Army No 11921 Discharged
On his relatives entry his wife is
Margaret previously Cropper, Widow
They married 16 July 1914 St Peter's Birkdale.
Three Cropper children are listed
Peter 24/9/1900
Ethel Mary 18/4/1905
Maria Cropper 6/4/1901
Although Peter and Maria are questionable as there is only seven months between births
The only Peter I can find born 1900 appears in 1901 census as a 6 mth son of James & Alice - RG13; Piece: 3540; Folio: 24; Page: 2.
Does anyone have these Croppers their tree giving their please
Seems James joined up more than once. Have found him again age 31 11 months as well. Same wife but chidren now given as
Maria 6/4/1901
Ethel 18/3/1915

Could it be that the Ethel mentioned in the first post could be the same as the second - a slip of the pen maybe? And how many men would remember, exactly, their offsprings' birth dates?

Think it must be a mistake and he got it wrong
Found Ethel Mary Cropper b. Ormskirk district 1905
If an Ethel born 1915 then she would have the surname Howard and there doesn't seem to be any born then.
