Hi, I am not expecting miracles after the realisation of the wast amount of rimmers/ balls in north meols. So if any one can guide me as to how to continue my tree i would be grateful. Quite new to me.
My third great grandmother margery rimmer married James Ball at christs church north meols on 3 feb 1847. James was a labourer.
Residance at time of marriage is Birkdale.
Margery,s Father is Peter Rimmer...Farmer
James Father John Ball.....Farmer.
Witnesses. William Rimmer & John Marshall. (All on marriage certificate)
Of full age.
Margery was born about 1826 in southport, North meols.Died in 1909??. Birkenhead,
James was born in mawdesley about 1824.
They had 3 children Robert Halsall Ball.1848( My second great grandad) Not sure if there is a connection with halsall as it was used again for another family member in the next generation??
James...1854
John...1860
Heres hoping.

This may/may not be the right line -
26.02.1815 Peter Rymer, fisherman, marr. Dorothy Jump of Halsall
22.12.1816 Bap. John, s of Peter & Dorothy Rimmer, Marshside, Weaver
03.01.1819 Bapt. Peter s of Peter & Dorothy R. Southport, Fisherman
15.04.1821 Bap. Elizabeth, d of Peter & Dorothy R, Southport, Weaver
13.11.1825 Bap. Margery, d of Peter & Dorothy R, Little London, Weaver
These names should be able to traced through Census Returns for 1841 onwards.
It may be that the Halsall name came from the area that Dorothy lived in before she married Peter
Most men changed their 'profession' depending on the season and what work was available.
Hope this helps - let us know?

Hi, Had posted earlier that i was having no luck but pleased to say no more searching so deleted previous posts.
SPOT ON.. Thankyou seacoprimmer. I wasnt sure at first so i did some searching and went to my tree to check census data. James and margery were living with brother/sister in law charles and dorothy parker in 1871..... Brain on go slow these days. Blame it on the children.
I did a search for dorothy rimmer. I found her.. Born on 15 feb 1828 in little london. Parents Dorothy Jump and Peter Rymer.
So i checked bmd for marriage. Dorothy rimmer married Charles parker in 1865. It is possible she had been married previosly as she was 38 and charles was 24. Although they have no children??. In 1871 anyway thats for another day.
