McKinsie and stone masons

Richard Howard married his second wife Elizabeth McKinsie at Christ´s Church , North Meols on 11th February , 1839.Elizabeth came from Scotland and her father was John McKinsie stone mason. She was living in Southport before the time of her marriage and was born in about 1817. Anyone got any information about the McKinsie family or about stone masons at that time .

Stonemasons

My ancestors were stonemasons.  On the census it doesn't mention who they worked for.

One of my rellies had an unusual chap as his witness on his marriage cert and when I checked him out on the census he came from Scotland and he was a mason too.

Did our last speaker say that stone masons were the fore-runners of our modern-day 'brickies'?
