Military on Ancestry.co.ukThis part can sometimes be quite useful. I have just been browsing Brookfield's.
Father John, Mother Mary nee Howard.
Found a couple of their son's.
One had listed his wife, marriage date and daughter's name and birth
another age 18 joined up, deserted, and rejoined Kings Regiment, Liverpool a couple of months later, think he got 56 days imprisonment.

oooh - I've got Mary Howard as a 3rd cousin 4x removed. Wouldn't surprise me if John Brookfield was also related somehow but haven't investigated that. There's my afternoon sorted
Thank's for the pointer

Brian,
Have seen that you have a connection to the Brookfield's.
David son of John and Mary married Alice Ann Rimmer, daughter of Robert and Ada nee Birch. Robert was the son of John and Ann nee Abram. John and Ann were my2xgt grandparents.
Did you have a look at the Military yesterday?

Yes - had a look at Daniel Brookfield's service record, will have another trawl soon.
I read somewhere that Ancestry's military records would be free access during November to commemorate the 90th anniversary

James RimmerNot quite sure where this should go but it regards Military on Ancestry. Don't know how I got to it but, under Great Britain Royal Aero Club Aviator's Certificates 1910-1950
James Rimmer born 6 March 1890, Southport.
36 Byrom Street,
2nd Lieut RFC
There is a picture of him.
Any one related??
