Peter Howard (the other one)Whilst searching about re Bob's George Howard I came across a 1st cousin 3times removed ie Peter Howard son of Peter Howard.
Reading his Military papers he seems to have been awarded the Military medal for Bravery.
By the side of it it has London Gazette and seems to have been awarded it 12 July 1918.
I have tried to look at the Gazette but am going nowhere fast.
Is there an easier way of finding him on it.

The London Gazette is fully searchable. You just put in the name/date and it comes up with a list.
http://www.gazette-online.co.uk/S...918&exact=military+medal&
Anyway, I've found it. There was a 28 page supplement to issue no:30797 and the citation you want is on page 13 of the supplement.
If you pm me with your email address I will forward the pdf file to you. Each page is done as a separate pdf file.

Yippee...I like this forum...we are so kind to each other. I've just been reading about GR and am so glad we're not like that!
Thanks to everybody who responds to help wanted.

Yes Dotty I agree with you. Though must say I have had a lot of help there in the past.
I left there a while ago . It just isn't like it used to be. Though you do get some good tips on the tips board.
Not as friendly as here though.
Oh could you imagine how I would get slagged off for not knowing my alphabet

Never mind...I think it is Jane that has a good saying on her avatar, something like "mad on genealogy, or just mad!". I would hate it if our forum was like a local news website...the comments on that forum are so petty and spiteful.
You keep posting...
