I've already read the request below looking for information on Richard Carr in the early 1800's. Unfortunately, I have another Richard Carr I'm looking for in the same period.
From the Census data, my Richard Carr was born on 1805 in North Meols and then moved to Much Hoole (as at 1841 and thereafter).
I'm pretty sure he married to Jennett Moulden (born in Bretherton) but I can't find any record of this marriage at all.
Their children included Richard (b. approx. 1835), Robert (b. approx. 1838), Jane (b. approx. 1840), Henry (b. approx 1842) JOSEPH (b. 1843 and my next ancestor), Elizabeth (b. 1847), John (b. 1849) and Annie (b. 1850).
Oh, and I've just purchased and received the North Meols Carr name extract (thanks Jennie) and although there was a Richard Carr baptized in 1807, I'm not sure how I verify (or discount) this.
Sorry for such a long post but I thought the more detail the better...
Can anyone help?!
Many thanks

Have you got an census information?
Looking at the index for a Richard Carr in Lancashire (North Meols) 1841 I've found -
1 - born about 1810
2 - born about 1840
3 - born about 1811
4 - born about 1836
None of them appear with a wife Jennet though
Of course you Richard born about 1805 would no doubt have been married by that census so not living with his parents.
Not sure how you know who he married without the certificate - or parish registry entry more likely but again if it was before 1837 registration there may not be a father's name.
I think this is when lots of us get stuck. The only clue we may have is the naming pattern of children. SOMETIMES (but not always) the eldest son was named after his Grandfather, that is father's father.
Maybe someone else might have further help to offer. I suppose you've checked The Park database? Details are on the forum of how to get to that on the internet.

Hello Jane
Thanks for the speedy reply!
Yes, I've got Census information from 1841 to 1861 and Richard's spouse is Jennet. In the 1861 census (in Little Hoole) Richard Moulden is in the household and listed as the Father-In-Law, aged 79, which is where I've got her maiden name from.
This is all I really have to go on... No I haven't tried Parks- I'll look that up.
