Richard CarrI have just found your site and am trying to trace family back. I was born in Southport and some of the family seem to have been there back in 1800 or so. Does anyone have any records of a Richard Carr who married an Alice Heaton. They were born in about 1807 and 1811 and had a daughter Mary Ann born in 17.2.1845??

PS My grandmother was a Polly Porter and her grandfather was Thomas Porter who married Mary Ann Carr on 14 1 1864

Richard carrThanks for the census copy. The details are those on thew Ancestry site but please note that the Margaret A is a mess reading of Mary A. I was trying to see if it is possible, reasonably easily, to get back before this record. There seem to be several Richard Carr s all born about the same time in North Meols and I wondered if there had been any deeper research in this family.

Jeremy it may be of benefit to you to join the society. I'm sure there are other people researching that surname.
As a member your interests of research would be printed in our magazine so other members could contact you. You could also contact others researching that name. And hopefully find a link
The society has copies of the North Meols Parish records as well as other things - one name extracts for example. All details are on our web site (see publications page) - www.nmfhssouthport.co.uk
And of course if you live locally you can come along to one of our monthly meetings and see just how friendly we are
