My Family lived in Cemetery road, I dont know where they lived prior to that my Granddad was Harry Rigby,He worked for the council as a labour, so I beleive. he married Susanna Almond in 1913. RigbysHi Phil, welcome to the website.
Thanks for your family information. I'm at work at the moment so without checking my FH file my first thought is that they're not direct line but they could be extended family.
Will check and get back to you. How are you doing with your research?

Hi Dotty
Many thanks for getting back to me.. I'm not doing that well at the moment, although I have only just started in the last few months. Still learning how to go about it all.
I joined and trascribe for the BMD site, that takes up quite a bit of time, but I did find one person in my family, which was a good thing.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards

GreetingsHi Phil
I see you've met Jane...she's brill at finding folk.
Well, your Rigbys are not on my direct line but as I say they could be extended family. My mother was born a Rigby. Her father was Robert born 1903 married to Minnie. His father was Thomas, mother Jenny. Thomas was youngest son of Richard and Ellen both Rigbys.
We are having a Members' Interest evening in July and if I'm not mistaken we are having a beginners table. You do not have to be a member to come along...we like visitors...it starts at 8pm. We meet at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the corner of Preston New Road and North Road. Entry is via a door off the car park...we have someone on the door (to keep out riff raff - only joking!) so come along if you feel free. Oh, it is free too... There is disabled access round the front. If you need anymore information then just post on the forum.
Looking forward to meeting you,
Dotty

Monumental InscriptionsMy Rigby's are getting me down...so many Richards it's nearly as bad as the Rimmers.
Are there any Richard Rigby's in St Cuthberts graveyard does anybody know?
All help gratefully received...

I concur...Hi Jane
I PMd Steve first and he sent me details of two graves absolutely packed with the little blighters...
Now I have names to go with the request I shall indeed be getting in touch with my mate Bez!
I have been on ancestry this weekend so that is why the Richards have been giving me the run around.
I have found one branch of the tree with fishermen and Timothys so perhaps my late mother was right and we do have links to the Eliza Fernely sinking...
