William Carr Gun DealerI have become intrigued by the following (very) extended family group. In the 1881 census they are at 121 East Bank Street which is a Gun Dealer and Marine Dealer's Store.
William Carr (misspelt Curr) 8/1/15 of Birkdale and the head, presumably the owner.
Sarah Carr nee Blundell 17/4/1814 his wife and a draper.
Gilbert Blundell 30/5/30, Sarah's "baby" brother.
(Margaret) Ellen Blundell, nee Dow 1/8/1849, Sarah's late sister's daughter.
Annie Blundell age 7, Sarah Blundell 4 and Gilbert Blundell 2, all the children of Ellen and Samuel (who was in Kirkdale Prison).
George G Blundell age 12 - don't know him.
And finally James Dow, Ellen's brother.
If anyone has this group in their history, I would be interested to know more about the business and how long it remained in the Carr/Blundell/Dow hands. Also why was Samuel in prison. And who is George.
Any takers?

Can't take them but a few suggestions
1 - you could try looking at local directories in the reference library. It should list the store. You should also be able to see if/when William Carr had a different address. They usually have an alphabetic list of people
2 - You might have to send for a birth certificate to find out who George was - or see if you can find him on other census.
I had a quick look for him in 1871 and there is a George Gilbert Blundell aged 2 born Heyward with parents George (rag & bone dealer born Southport) & Sarah Ann born Manchester at 64 York Street, Heap, Heyward
Maybe this helps?
3 - I think you might find more about why Samuel was in prison at the Lancashire record office in Preston. If you found out when he went there might be something in a local paper
Hope that helps

Lancashire records Office have the bill of costs.
Bill of costs of prosecution of Samuel Blundell for larceny QSP/4096/51 c1881
If you email them and ask for a quote they will send you a form so you can order a copy.
I got one a few year ago the cost then was £2.50 I think it may depend on how big it is.
It was quite interesting too.
Good luck

I have an idea that the Blundell connection ties in with Gill Blundell, Seed Merchant of Eastbank Street. The number 121 would put it in the approx location of these premises.
A Gill Blundell , who, later, had a stall in the Southport market, lived/ lives in CocKle Dick's Lane, Southport and a daighter is married to a Geoffrey Lloyd, a local magistrate who wrote a history of Churchtown Congregationa Church.
He is a member of the Society and perhaps someone could look up his contact details and pass them on?

Contact details.........Please can I add that I don't think it a good idea to send any one's contact details.
People's details should never be sent without their permission
I am always happy to forward your details to Geoff and he can then make contact if he wishes
