I am writing to say the story printed in Friday's' paper (16th November 2007) has many things incorrect.
Myself & our publicity office, Gladys Armstrong, have been trying to find the Gospel chapel/church and last week managed to locate an entry in an old Southport directory in the reference library - I am attaching a copy of the page but it may not be very clear. Listed in 1864 is - "The Gospel", Temperance Hall. Therefore the church actually met on London Street
