Ann Leadbetter is a 3rd cousin of mine; plus various other members of my extended family marry in from time to time! (mainly Jacksons)
I had a GenesR contact a month or two back from a descendant (I think) of Samson Lloyd & Martha Cropper. Plus I got quite a few dates on Peter Jackson & Mary Lloyd many years ago from a contact (a very distant relative) in Canada, who also recently found me again on GenesR
Yes - it seems to be the same family. 1841 - Hawside, North Meols - Peter (25), agricultural labourer, living with Margaret (25) and Thomas (5 months). 1851 - Southport, Peter (36), carriage proprietor, living with his wife - Margaret (39), and four children - Thomas (10), George (6), John (4) and Margaret (1). I haven't found them in 1861 but there is a possible death registration for Peter Lloyd - Sep 1866, Ormskirk, Vol 8b, page 723, Peter Lloyd, age 52. There's also a possible marriage registration - Mar 1840, Ormskirk, Vol 21, page 299, Peter Lloyd and Margaret Peet or Rimmer. I guess the marriage certificate would provide the link to George.
By the way, George (who married Ann Leadbetter) is my husband's 2nd cousin 5 times removed - very small world amongst the the North Meols families!
Best wishes
Jo

A big thank you to both Brian and Jo. Its given me insight with my Lloyd relations. Its also made me question where i found the info that links me to George Lloyd and Ann Leadbetter thru Robert b1817/1818
Unfortunately i lost a load of information when the computer decided to pack in for good.
Many thanks again

Does anyone know if Robert Lloyd (1817/18) married an Ellen Wood in Liverpool 1849? Was she from Poulton -le-Fylde originally?
That would give me a start on another twig!

Still a bit stuck on Peter Lloyd & wife Margaret; and can't find good records for the deaths of Robert & Ellen (some close candidates but they were always spot on with their ages)
I have them with 4 children though. The oldest child being Robert b1845, unfortunately i cant find where that information came from?
Isn't that always the way?
He should be on the 1851 census with them, but they are on their own. The only Robert Lloyd I can find on the 1851 census who was born c 1845 (apart from a few in Liverpool) is the son of a Peter & Ellen Lloyd, and they were in Birkdale.
