Always possible I have got the Peter Lloyds mixed up, but I have:

John (c1880), Elizabeth (c1883), Joseph (c1885), Selina (c1888), Silas (c1893), Benjamin (c1896)

all together with parents living in Halsall in 1901. They seem to have moved there sometime after 1896.

What do you think? Have I taken a wrong turn somewhere?

Yes that's the one. The reference for the 1901 census is:
RG13 Piece 3531 Folio 7 Page 6 (Halsall)

Peter Lloyd, 43, Head, Gardener, Birkdale
Elizabeth Ellen Lloyd, 43, wife,, Lathom
John Lloyd, 20, Son, Gardener, Birkdale
Elizabeth Lloyd, 18, Daughter,, Birkdale
Joseph Lloyd, 16, Son, Ag Lab
Selina Lloyd, 13, Daughter,, Birkdale
Silas Lloyd, 8, Son,, Birkdale
Benjamin Lloyd, 5, Son,, Birkdale

are the first 4 children the ones you have?

Yes that all ties in. Especially with Elizabeth being born in Lathom.

The only Priscilla Dewhurst that comes up on Free BMD doing a 'all counties' is in March 1891 Sheffield , but cannot get her on 1911 census under Priscilla Dewhurst.
