Looking for anyone with a connection to Thomas Howard sp; Jane b; 1823 both of northmeols. they had a daughter ellen b; 1843. wnting to know if this is the jane howard who married a william Rimmer abt. 1872

| Do you mean Jane Howard or Ellen Howard? And do you have a birth date for William? Long shot but it might help

This is the line I'm trying to verify. I'm hoping to find someone who can help. have BMD certs for John Rimmer and B for Mary Ellen Johnson. Have B cert for William Rimmer (1849). trying to verify his marriage. also her parents.

Unsworth if you go and look at the society's web page you will see all the publications we sell. One is Howard one name - also lots of Rimmer things.
I'm not sure if you are a member but you would get a lot of help that way. All members have their interest names published in our magazine and there is also a help wanted page. Someone just may spot a connection.
I say this because not everyone has the internet or a computer. Just a way for more people to see your interest names

There are three Thomas Howard's baptised c1811 in North Meols.
1. 11 Feb 1810 s/o John & Jenny Crossens
2. 5 Aug 1810 s/o Thomas & Margaret, Crossens
3. 31 May 1812 s/o William & Ann
Also one burial 8 Dec 1813 Thomas Howard Bs , 1
Think this is probably No. 3 as other children of a William & Ann have Bs, wea. after them.

| Hi Unsworth - if you are following the same line as my grandfather's predecessors either you have gone astray or at least six other people have! I have this line back to Edward Rimmer m Ellen Lunt 30.05.1808 which has been authenticated by several people and it doesn't match with what you have listed here!

| jane I have certs for 1st and 2nd gen listed. and I have located the cert for William and Ellen Ormskirk 1872. when it comes to william and Jane Threlfall I've traced them in the censuses, It looks as though William was Janes 2nd Marriage as she has 2 children with las name of Threllfall on 1881 census. If you want you can email me at northmeols@pyatt.net and I can send you a gedcom with census and certs listed. but to be honest with you I'm still verifying the early 1800's of my Rimmers. I feel it is important to have proof of what I believe to be my line. I am always open to correction though.

It looks as though William was Janes 2nd Marriage as she has 2 children with las name of Threllfall on 1881 census
I have William marrying a Jane Aughton (Threlfall was, I assume, her 1st husband's surname); They married in Sept. Qtr 1846 (Ormskirk District).
1841 Census (Barton, Downholland),Jane Threlfall (aged 35) Farmer, with four children Thomas (14) Jane (12) Alice (6) and Charlotte (3); William Rimmer (aged 25) is listed as a Servant;
1851 Census (Plex Lane, Halsall), William (40) is Head and a Farmer of 40 Acres born Lancashire, Meols, Jane (46) Farmer's Wife, born Halsall. there are three Rimmer children John (6), James (4) and William (1) and three Threlfalls, Alice (16), Charlotte (14) and grand-daughter Elizabeth (2);
1861 Danglets Lane, North Meols: William (47) Fisherman, born North Meols; Jane (56), born North Meols (?), with John (16), James (14) and William (11) and Elizabeth Threlfall (12) grand-daughter and Alice Threlfall (25) and Charlotte Threlfall (23) Step daughters.

| I put Threlfall in as janes maiden name as it was the only one I could find at the time. It looks as though you have her birth name. thanks for the info I'll add it to my working info file. I'll go on line as soon as I get my new debit card. had to get it replaced as mine had been compromised by a company I ordered from.
