Sorry for the delay re your request for 1914 info on the location of William Edward Pickup and his father William.
The alphabetical listing shows a W. Pickup, Basket Maker, at 78 Linaker Street and a Wm E Pickup, Ry Servant, at 3 Virginia Street.
The street listing for 78 Linaker St shows the same as above but interestingly there is a Thomas Pickup, Joiners, Builders and Undertakers at 95 Linaker St. Any relation?
The listing for 3 Virginia St shows Wm. Ed. Pickup, Railway Employee and also Mrs E. M. Pickup, Servants Registy.
Dotty, yes we had a good trip. 3 months & 2 days, 13,849 kms. First went north to Yellowknife the Northwest Terriories, left out trailer (caravan) there and then a flight to Inuvik, north of the Arctic Circle. From here we took a day trip by small plane to Tuktoyaktuk, Tuk for short, where I had the opportunity to did my toes in the Arctic Ocean. Back to Inuvik where we and 16 other passengers took a 10 day/1600 km boat trip up the Mackenzie River. A great experience. From Yellowknife we drove to Ontario to visit friends and family.
Hi, I don't know if this offer is still open but my Grandfather was born at 133 Bispham Road, Southport in 1915, where his mother worked as a domestic servant, I wondered if it would be possible to find out who she worked for in that house.
Also I wondered if there are many LEATHAM's listed in Southport I am looking for possibly a carpenter / furniture maker or a Butcher according to various family tales.
I would appreciate any help,
Fiona

Hi Fiona
I'm sure someone (other than me who knows nothing...no I know 2 things, little and nothing) will be along shortly to give you some info about Bispham Road. I've just come down that road not an hour ago...
You sound as if you don't live locally...is that right?
Good to hear from you,
TTFN
Dotty

I live in Shropshire, I think my great grandmother stayed only a short while in Bispham Road, she had had a child in Shifnal in 1914 and must have returned to Shropshire not too long after my grandfather was born in 1915.
Perhaps if I was closer I could check the electoral roll at the record office.
Hi Bob,
thanks for looking, It made me smile to see that you missed my post last week and to recieve a reply now, as when you say last week, it was actually last year.
I don't think I will get much more info now, but I will keep on looking,
