For anyone interested I came across this afternoon, just before the heavens opened toothy2

Enos Rimmer
Died 6 Oct 1894
Age 66

Ellen his wife
17 March 1898
Age 69

Didn't find what I wanted though Sad
A bit disconcerting as Joyce  O has linked him as the brother of my 3xgt grandmother Alice.

Just been looking through census at him. Very confused.
I have found a marriage to a Ellen Johnson in 1859
However on 1861 census it shows Alice Rimmer age 10 daughter
Richard Rimmer 6 son. Both born Lathom.
1851 Enos is with parents.

Then in 1881 census a Thomas Johnson age 8 listed as step son appears born Lathom, and then in 1891 Thomas E Johnson age 19 is listed as grandson born Birkdale Rolling Eyes

I'm sure they thought lets change birth places to confuse people in the future doing family history Confused

I have an ancestor and she lived to be around 100. I have her on every census 1841-1901 and she has different birth places each time. All the same area though. She also ages less that 10 years in a couple of them. No wonder when she died she thought she was over 100.and so did every one else.

Really though it depends who filled the census form in.  Other people may not have been sure of birth places.
