Hi

Snowed in (not joking!)  on a mountain in mid Wales today- so I had some time to do a bit of searching - also completed my NMFHS membership stuff   - not posted yet and no idea when it will be collected - I need to be able to get to the post box first   ...

Anyway, I'm thinking of sending for the marriage certificate for Harriet Rimmer (June, Ormskirk, 1860) - I think she marries Robert Carr.

I have checked Park database - can find a possible link, before I spend yet more money to try to understand distant connections, just thought I would check here first in case she rings a bell with any of you.

Thanks to you all for your on going help

Amanda

Have done a check with the St Cuthbert's Marriages and the Lancashire Parish Clerk Online Project but no sign there;  checked 1861 Census and it does look as if she married Robert Carr (Robert Carr, Harriet Carr and baby Carr).  It says she was born in Birkdale so a number of possibilities for which Church - other than the foregoing I'm afraid I can't be of help - but good luck and I hope it's the right Harriet/Robert

i looked that up on FreeBMD and on the same page are -

Robert Carr
Thomas Howard
Martha Winrow
Harriet Rimmer

So only a choice of 2 possible husbands. As she seems to be with Robert on the census in 1861 it does seem correct - but only the parish registry entry or marriage certificate will tell you for certain.

Thankfully the heavy snow missed Southport

In case the info is of any use to others- Harriett does mary Robert Carr in 1860 at Trinity Church.
Her father is listed as James Rimmer, farmer of Birkdale, his as William Carr, fisherman, Birkdale, her age seems to read 18. Richard Marshall and Rosella Rimmer are the witnesses.

Harriett dies in 1869, death certificate list her age as 24, Robert, Birkdale as informant.

Hi

I have a Harriet Rimmer - baptised 23 January 1843, Christ Church, daughter of James Rimmer and Jane, nee Sawyer. In the 1851 census, Harriet is living with her parents (James is a farmer) and five siblings including a Rosetta.

I also have a Robert Carr - baptised 25 Feb 1840, Christ Church, son of William Carr and Isabel, nee Marshall. In 1851, William is a fisherman.

If you would like more info - please let me know.

Regards

Jo
