I am still waiting for my copy to arrive. I ordered it a month ago. I am not sure how they are sending it but the long stop date is 25 July (I hope 2012).

They seem to be selling for a lot of money. I have seen it offered for sale at £600. On average they seem to be offered at £150.

I have not read it yet but from what I have heard it should be a very good book.

I was hoping to use it to resolve the John (Physic) Rigby conundrum.

It's a very good book as I recall.  Not read it for a long time, but I learned a lot.  The one about Crossens is good as well.

Anyone who is a society member (In the UK) can borrow this from our library for the price of postage....a good way to see if it is worth buying.

I bought this a year or so ago. It was "remaindered" at £10  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's very interesting lots of maps pictures and stories. It is written in an easy to read style and was well worth the tenner. I'm not so sure about the ebay prices but I'm not likely to sell.

My copy arrived!!!!

 q33

I found it a fascinating read. I ended up paying £35 plus postage from Neil Carver in Southport through Abe books.

My ancestors are very much from the fishing side of North Meols so it was a must read for me. Well worth the money.

Like most books it gave some answers and posed many new questions.

I have recently cleared out my father-in-law's room at a nursing home and came across the copy of this book that we bought for him when it was first published - it is as new.

As I already own a copy, I'm happy to offer it to this community before putting it on line (currently, there are 3 copies on Amazon at £27.50, £45.00 and £450.90).

If you are interested, pm me with your offer (I can deliver if you are in the Southport area, otherwise postage would also apply) - first reasonable offer accepted
