I am looking for more information about Richard Rimmer, age 39 found drowned in the Leeds Liverpool canal in June 1913.
He may be my Great Grandfather who disappeared around that time but there are no family details on the death certificate, only the name of the coroner at the inquest.
He was a carter and the address given is 29 Dove Street, Seaforth.
Can anybody help?

Hello Dotty,
I do not know his actual date of birth. I have his marriage certificate which would put his birth year as 1874/5.
He married Mary Lloyd in 1898 in North Meols. His father was Thomas Rimmer (deceased), a Gas stoker.
The last information I have for him is the 1911 census where he is living with wife Mary and 5 children at 195 Bispham Rd, Southport.
The family story was that he went to Australia to set up home for the family to follow but was never heard from again.  I have not been able to find a definite emigration record for him.
His wife Mary remarried in Liverpool in 1916 recorded as a widow on her marriage certificate which would suggest that she had been informed of his death.

Thank you for your help
Regards
Pam
