Peter Wright - Boatbuilder - 67 Shellfield Rd

From the 1901 Census I found my Great Grandfather Peter Wright (1869) but I cannot find any information regarding his parents.
All I have is that he married a Margaret ? ( probably a Rimmer!) born 1865 & they had five children Alice(1893)Betty(1900),Robert(1897)John(1891) & Richard(1889) who was my Grandfather & a Fleetwood Fisherman)
I have a few very old photos of my G G Grandfather but have no idea who he was Crying or Very sad

All I know he was Methodist/Wesleyan?
Can anyone help.

PS By the way my Father became the first Wright to be Mayor of Fleetwood. Quite a feat with the number of Wrights in the town

Hi Ros; My Grandfather was born at 87 Shellfield Road in 1876 and was a fisherman (as were his father and most of his brothers); most, if not all, the residents of Marshside were Primitive Methodist and attended the Chapel on Marshside Road. The Temperance Hall was built by local fishermen for their own use and was where the Provident Money was paid in each week (and presumably doled out when necessary). I have several Shellfield Road directories and will look at them over the week-end and also see what I can find in the Street Directories next time I'm in Southport Library - watch this space.

Many, many thanks. you really don't know how much I appreciate your help. I'd love to put a name to the photo, wonder if he lived in Shellfield Road, wonder if Peters wife Margaret WAS a Rimmer! Would also mean a lot to my entire family including my grandchildren.

hope this info helps you out. I am related to wrights on shellfield I'll have to ask dad their names. If my memory serves me right my granddad used to refer to you gg grandad as dicky wright. and he most likely married a Ball.
